As the Audio Input feature in Reason has been widely debated all over the web, we expect a lot of enthusiasm about our new tool. We're so happy about it but, anyway, we want to stop your Hammer dreams and clearly state what Hammer is not that you could believe it will... |
Good audio cards are needed! Having like 200ms latency, Hammer is pratically unuseful! To reach a reasonable low latency value you should use high-end audio cards. |
Audio input, not recording! This first release of Hammer only supports live audio signal processing, this won't add hard-disk recording features in Reason. |
No ReWire chains, sorry! As well as with Propellerhead's ReBirth, our Hammer cannot be used while rewiring Reason to a sequencer such as Steinberg's Cubase SX or Emagic's Logic. |

Software requirements |
You will need to run Propellerhead's Reason, of course. Any version is supported, from early 1.0 to the new 3.0.4. |
|
Hardware requirements |
To enjoy the Hammer experience with no crackles and low latency, you will need to run one of these two hardware setups: |
One audio card The audio card, being used for both Hammer Input and Reason Output, should feature a full-duplex and ASIO multi-client driver. |

|
Two audio cards The audio card used for Hammer Input should feature a genuine ASIO driver, the audio card used Reason Output should feature an ASIO or WDM/MME/DX driver. |

|
|
In both cases, we suggest the use of high-end cards and ASIO drivers. |
